Colin Jackson, Athletics Legend & Sports Media Professional, becomes the ambassador of WISE, the first ever International Convention for Career Management in Sports

Lausanne, Switzerland, June 14, 2013 – “WISE – Work In Sports Exhibition” is honoured to announce its new ambassador, Colin Jackson, a man who successfully managed his career transition in sports.

While still being a World Record holder in athletics (60m hurdles indoor since 1994; former World Record holder for the 110m hurdles outdoor from 1993 to 2006), he retired from professional sport in 1993. He has been since then a brilliant commentator for the BBC in the United Kingdom.

Colin visited WISE offices at Maison du Sport International in Lausanne, the Olympic capital, on June 4th, 2013. In the interview, Colin speaks about his life and outstanding career as an athlete first and then as a sports media professional.

Colin Jackson said: “Sport has given me a lot and I think that WISE is a real opportunity for people to see what sport can deliver. What WISE will do is open up your eyes so you can see and develop yourself in the industry of sport”.

Giancarlo Sergi, WISE Director, added: “We are delighted to welcome Colin as WISE ambassador. He is the perfect example of a successful career transition and management in sports. Colin role will be to inspire other professional or retrained athletes to pursue a career in the various sport professions that will be discussed at length during WISE”.

WISE is a two-day event to be held at MCH Beaulieu Lausanne SA in Switzerland on May 7-8, 2014.
