Lausanne, Switzerland, December 22, 2014 – This international convention is aimed to foster careers in the sports industry in a sharing platform between the economic, public and sports contributors. This action will also consolidate Switzerland as the main sports hub in Europe.

Vale contributes to the development of young people through sports since 2008, by the creation of the knowledge-based program "Brasil Vale Ouro" whose methodology is based on the four pillars developed by the International Commission on Education of the Twenty-First century for UNESCO: learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together and learning to be. Since 2012, Vale in Switzerland is the principal partner of Trako, a non-profit association for developing judo classes in public schools, founded by Sergei Aschwanden, bronze medallist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Thanks to the commitment of Vale International SA, Trako expanded its project to schools in the cantons of Vaud and Geneva, and in the German part of Switzerland. “Sports is a real school of life as it is a universal tool for social integration to anyone. And judo has a genuine place in schools as it enhances the cognitive, emotional and motor development of kids” added Fidel Blanco, President of the Board of Directors, Vale International SA. During WISE, Vale will present the new initiatives of its youth social integration through sports program, which was developed by the Vale Foundation in Brazil. The company will also present how they give the opportunity to thousands of young people to discover high-level sports or sports as a school of life. Giancarlo Sergi, WISE Exhibition Director, added : “It is of outmost importance to integrate valuable partners such as Vale into this unique convention gathering all the opinion leaders in the sports’ world. There is a strong link between sports, society and economy; and this kind of project in sports development, as proposed by Vale, shows its value and importance”.

WISE 2014 gathered 900 participants from 40 countries, 40 exhibitors, 100 speakers and 3 ambassadors over 2 days. It offers a 360° sharing platform to leaders of today and tomorrow, as well as active and former athletes entering the business world.
